Answer: Graphic tools help to create support for interaction and sharing, which is key to learning new concepts. Also, graphic tools create a cleaner, more professional look which is easier to see and understand. They are very efficient and increase productivity. Students can also use these tools to help them independently explore and share with fellow learners.

Question 2: In Phase 2 of the Technology Integration Planning Model (TIP), teachers focus on the outcomes expected as a result of integrating technology into instruction. List four methods teachers can use to assess the outcomes of the plan.

Answer: 1. Use written tests to assess skill achievement outcomes. Examples- essay exams, mult. choice, true/false, matching

2. Use evaluation criteria checklists to assess complex tasks or products. Teachers should give students a set of criteria that specify requirements.

3. Use observation instruments to measure frequency of behaviors. Example- if teachers wanted to see an increase in student's use of scienctific language, they could create a chart to keep track of this and use on a daily basis.

4. Use rubrics to assess complex tasks or products. Rubrics fulfill the same role as evaluation criteria checklists and are sometimes used in addition to them.

Question 3: Describe two advantages of required school and district policies such as policies regarding Internet use, legal and ethical use, and equity.

Answer: First, having such policies prevents the school district and the educators from liability charges against them. It also helps protect students from online predators, chat rooms, and inappropriate material. Second, they help instill the idea that school is a place to learn, regardless of race or gender. Placing limitation on internet use also helps instill the idea that the internet is for learning purposes only, and not for gaming or chatting.
